Abstract:

There are many occupations in which color vision deficiency is undesirable. Although hereditary dyschromatopsis is not life threatening condition, it can interfere with professional career of affected persons. This is why early screening for hereditary color vision defects remains an important tool to help the patients make timely occupational decisions. Pseudoisochromatic plate testing is fast and easy for both the patients and examiners, helping us to easily determine the existence and type of color vision deficiency in everyday practice. If necessary, the patient can be reffered to additional tests (e.g. anomaloscope) to determine the exact type and degree of color vision deficiency.
