Abstract:

In order to prevent infertility, which is increasingly diagnosed in Croatia as well as in Europe, school medicine specialists carry out systematic check-ups of all children, adolescents, and young adults and provide preventive health care measures aimed at early diagnosis and treatment of all conditions that may negatively affect fertility. Polycystic ovary syndrome in girls and adolescents is one of such conditions, whose diagnosis and treatment procedures have been regulated by guidelines. In this article, we suggest guidelines for early detection of varicocoele, assessment of the relationship between the varicocoele degree and testis development, follow-up of the scrotal position of both testes, and criteria for surgical treatment, evaluation and follow-up of these patients.
