Abstract:

The main objectives of prosthodontic rehabilitation of edentulous and partially edentulous patients are to establish proper function and aesthetics of the stomatognathic system. Partially edentulous patients have numerous possible prosthodontic solutions. One of the frequently used solutions is fixed and mobile combined prosthodontics appliances retined with attachments. The attachments are defined as a retention and stabilizing parts of partial dentures that allow correct transmission of tingling and excruciating forces. Correct choice of attachments results in the production of partial dentures that satisfy all biological, functional and aesthetical requirements of the stomatognathic system and ensure a good adaptation with the patient.
