Pharmacological aspects of corrective preparations

Abstract:

Skin ageing is a complex biological process affected by endogenous and exogenous factors. Influenced by social norms, culture and the conception of self-worth, more and more people are deciding to undergo various corrective procedures. Striving to appear as beautiful and as young as possible, a growing number of people often subject themselves to procedures of questionable safety or procedures performed by non-professionals. These types of procedures result in serious unexpected side effects which seriously influence the patient’s physical and psychological well-being. Being well familiarized with the substances used, adherence to instructions, correct indication and professional procedure will result in a desirable outcome and patient satisfaction.
